Toyota Corolla 2007 lights not working (something I did)?

Posted by admin on November 7th, 2009 and filed under accessories lights | 2 Comments »

I was installing my new head unit and must have bumped a wire or something, because the accessory lights (backlights for gauges, a/c and so forth) do not light up anymore. They most definitely all work still, just the backlight LED’s are not lighting up when the car is on.

I need serious answers from serious people. Please don’t bother telling me just to go to a shop or something dumb like that. I want to hear experience over common sense.

check for these
wrong wire hooked up with the hot (positive)
and also check your ground
and just a note caps work alot better than electricle tape

The most likely cause is a blown fuse. There is a wire in the factory radio harness that’s connected to the lighting system. If that wire has been shorted or pinched, the result would be a blown fuse in the vehicle fuse box.

Check behind the radio for any wires that have been left uninsulated or pinched behind the radio chassis. Repair any damaged wiring, then check your vehicle’s fuses.

If you unplugged the vehicle’s dimmer switch while taking the dash apart, and forgot to plug it back in again, that’s another possible cause for your problem.
