I’m not a big fan of the 80’s (more of a 20’s-60’s person), but I’m going to an "80’s prom" themed party, and I was thinking about using the dress I already own. To me, it doesn’t scream out 80’s, but is it close? I saw Blondie’s Rapture music video, and this dress sort of resembles the dress she wore, except more prom-like.

In person it’s actually A LOT MORE body-hugging (like Blondie’s Rapture dress) than shown on the hanger, and it hits above the knee but under mid-thigh.
Also, any ideas with makeup, hair & accessories (necklaces, tights, gloves, shoes…)? If you actually lived through the 80’s, please tell me so too in your answer; it would really help.

try ebay, but dont type 80’s in because many fancy dress items will come up it will be cheaper to type sunglasses in, and search that way.

Throw on big accessories, tall boots – big hair and rock it out – could even go with spiked accessories and leather – Go Rocker Glam you could even put a big scarf in your hair or add a little hair paint – you could even put on leggings and pumps.

You know who is so cool and cool to dress like, always my favorite, is Stevie Nicks. Her wardrobe was so kickin’. Check out her wardrobe, Blondie doesn’t even come close to Stevie. Hey, have fun and hope you find something cool.

Two words..shoulder pads..it’s really not that hard to dress 80’s, try using lots of bright makeup, neon coloured accessories, poof up your hair..i dont think you’d wanna get a perm..but if you want more ideas, watch some 80’s movies. The Breakfast Club, Dirty Dancing..even try The Wedding Singer, it’s 80’s themed. Hope you have a great time
