Ladies, if a younger male relative asked to borrow one of your old dresses for a Halloween costume would you?

happily pull some out for him to try on or be upset and or offended?
If happily what other items and accessories might you be willing to lend to complete the outfit?

It’s a costume. Dress up is fun. I would not be offended at all.
But I would only loan something in his size & not anything that had to be returned b/c if he ruins the clothing I don’t want to be upset over what was lost.
I think it would be funny to have an off the shoulder shirt or dress with the typical trashy bra strap showing. Add a pair of non-matching color panty-hose with a bad run in them. Some flip-flops. And go for the whole "trailer trash" look. I guess I’d have to add some "Tammy Faye" mascara to that.

Go ahead if you want to cultivate and nourish a weirdo in the family.

It has got nothing to do with "weirdo" as one person answers.

My macho son, when he was in high school and then once again when he was in his 30’s, dressed up like a woman and won first prize in two competitions. He was, and still is, full of fun and laughter and he looked terrific. He has a family now and we often laugh at the photos of him in his costume.

Too bad that some see a sordid side to this, when there is none. Women dress as men for certain fun things, and some men dress as women, so what!!!

Being miserable I suppose is part of some peoples lives, but as for me and mine. Go ahead young man and enjoy yourself, and take no notice of those sad individuals that see something dark and sinister in having some really good times in life.

No he can go to the thrift store.I don’t loan out my clothes to anyone. I see nothing with dressing up for halloween but then there are those who do love the dress if you know what I mean. That is a problem for me.

For a Halloween costume, sure. I’d even help him with some accessories. High heeled shoes, boa wrap, big hat, stuffing for the bra, gaudy jewelry, mesh stockings and a purse. He could also wear a long, blonde wig that I once wore. I would even help him with the makeup. He would look ADORABLE.

Well, if I liked the young relative a lot, I’d give him a ride to the nearest Thrift store.

    I don’t lend personal items–ever.

I’d let him borrow whatever he wanted complete with bra to stuff so that he looked real. I do draw the line at under drawers. He can wear his own.
