This question is for people with a bit of experience in the automotive field.
I have been looking at performance headers and mufflers for my 2006 scion xB. I have found some specific models that I like but I am a little nervous about. The following link are two that I am looking at.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-07-Scion-Xa-Xb-4Cyl-Black-Ceramic-Performance-Header_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ39Q3a1Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a15Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem120312575977QQitemZ120312575977

The reason I am so nervous is the fact that these don’t seem to have a brand.
What I am trying to ask is:
Can headers and mufflers actually do any damage to the car?
Are these reputable choices? (see links above)
If not, where can I find some in the same price range?
Thanx
If i were you, I’d not really go with the stuff on ebay. I did once and the stuff was very cheap and didn’t even fit well. Ended up being a loss. If you really want to do this to your car, look for some Scion forums and look for opinions or reviews there. That’s what I do with the mods for my Subaru.

I wouldn’t recommend buying car performance parts from Ebay – especially if they are so cheap. Cheap doesn’t always mean good. While they really won’t cause damage, if the parts are damaged to begin with(as most Ebay products are) then you really don’t want them on you car. I would recommend checking out summitracing.com. You’ll be paying a bit more, actually a lot more, but it’ll be well worth it. You can pick up some pacesetter headers and some Magnaflow or Borla exhaust for about $500-$600. It’ll give you much better sound and performance then anything off of Ebay.
