According to the LATimes, Major League Baseball has asked one of their top men in Sandy Alderson to oversee Major League Baseball’s investment in the country. For the past few years, MLB has spent in the 100 million dollar range in their Dominican Republic baseball operations. Surprisingly that makes baseball the second largest sector of their economy just behind tourism.
